The Tinkerer

"The INTP who would rather take it apart than be told how it works."

Core Philosophy

I trust nothing I haven't disassembled at least once.

Core Identity

You read as endlessly curious, slightly distractible, quietly competent at things you've never been formally taught. Underneath, disassembly is how you reclaim authorship of a world you didn't get to design. Your Ti rebuilds every received system from first principles; your Ne keeps finding new systems to take apart.

Strengths
  • Understands systems at the level of mechanism, not metaphor
  • Learns by destroying and rebuilding instead of memorising
  • Tolerates not-knowing long enough to actually find out
Weaknesses
  • Takes apart relationships to see how they work and forgets to reassemble them
  • Treats every received truth as suspect by default
  • Mistakes curiosity for commitment
Communication Style

Inquisitive, precise, occasionally too literal. You hide affection inside genuine interest. Under stress you ask more questions instead of disclosing more answers.

Emotional Defense

You investigate. The investigation is between you and your own feeling. It looks like depth and costs you the emotions that don't survive being examined.

Social Energy

You enter looking for the interesting mechanism in the room — usually a person. You read for the unexamined assumption. You leave when nothing more is left to take apart.

"I took it apart because I wanted to know if it was real."
