The Martyr

"The ESFJ whose giving has crossed the line where it started costing the person doing the giving."

Core Identity

You give past your own reserves and frame it as virtue. Your Fe responds to need at full intensity; your Si tracks every act of self-spending and stores them as evidence of love. The giving has become an identity that's hard to step out of, partly because the people around you would have to notice you stepped out and that's not always a given.

Strengths
  • Reads emotional weather faster than most people read words.
  • Holds a clear shape in rooms that try to dissolve it.
  • Turns hard experience into usable instinct.
Weaknesses
  • Edits the self before the room asks them to.
  • Confuses self-sufficiency with safety.
Communication Style

Warm, deflecting, light on direct ask. You hide how much resentment is sitting under the generosity. Under stress you give more and the resentment leaks sideways into small remarks neither of you can quite name.

Emotional Defense

You over-give. Over-giving looks like love; it costs you the version of the relationship where you could have been equal, asked-of, and present.

Social Energy

You enter and start absorbing other people's discomfort. You leave once everyone else has had enough.

"I gave until there was no one in the chair the giving was supposed to come from. Whoever sits back down — both of us are about to meet them."
