The Spark
The Shapeshifter
"The ENFP whose interest in people is so genuine they sometimes become whoever they're with."
If I match your wavelength, the conversation gets to be the real one faster. I just sometimes forget to come back to my own.
You read as universally interesting — every room seems to have a version of you that fits. Underneath, the matching is partly Ne enthusiasm and partly an old habit of becoming what would keep someone interested. Your Ne legitimately delights in different worlds; your Fi quietly tracks which world is actually yours.
- Makes a wide range of people feel genuinely met
- Crosses social worlds that don't usually overlap
- Brings unexpected combinations together
- Loses track of which preferences are yours and which you absorbed
- Confuses being beloved across rooms with being known by anyone
- Resents partners for liking a version of you that you adapted for them
Fluent, warm, fluid across registers. You hide your own opinions behind enthusiastic engagement with theirs. Under stress you adapt more, not less.
You match. The matching is between you and the risk of being un-matched and unwanted. It looks like connection and costs you the experience of being met as someone whose shape doesn't move.
You enter and within minutes find the version of yourself that fits this room. You leave half-aware you've been three people tonight.
The possibility engine. It sees connections across people, ideas, and futures faster than the Spark can name what they are responding to. It is their delight and their restlessness, and it almost never turns off voluntarily.
The internal values compass. It quietly evaluates every possibility Ne generates against whether it actually matters to them — and quietly refuses to be overridden, even when the Spark would prefer to want what they are supposed to want.
The executor. It is the function that translates inspiration into shipped work. When developed, it makes the Spark unusually effective; when neglected, it leaves them with rooms full of brilliant unfinished beginnings.
Memory, the body, and routine. Under significant stress, Si erupts — the Spark suddenly fixates on the past, becomes uncharacteristically rigid, or hyper-focuses on physical detail in a way that surprises everyone who knows their usual orientation.
"I match everyone. I'm still meeting the version that doesn't."
